Setting up Collaboration

Invite others to your documents and work on them together in real time. Collaboration is built into the iWork apps on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and iCloud.com.

 

Setup on the Students iPad

Before you start ...

Some things to note before trying to setup collaboration

  • Make sure that to document you want to share is saved into the correct location on your device
    • Pages documents must be saved to iCloud Drive > Pages folder
    • Keynote documents must be saved to iCloudDrive > Keynote folder
    • Numbers documents must be saved to iCloud Drive > Numbers folder

  • Your document should be named with your Name and the Document title so your teacher can identify the document and who it belongs to.  Example "Bob Dillion - A History of Music".



Setting up Collaboration

  • Click on the Collaboration icon at the top right of the document 
  • Select Copy Link 


  • Enter in your teachers AppleID address (get this from your teacher) and then click on Copy Link

  • Open up your email and write an email to your teacher.  Paste your copied link into the email and send it to your teacher

 

 

On the Teachers iPad

  • Check your Email for the email from the student
  • Click on the link provided in the email to open the document
    • If the link doesn't work, make sure that the student has shared that:
      • The Student has shared the document with your AppleID
      • Make sure that you are signed into your device with your AppleID
  • Once you close the document it will be available under "Shared Documents" in your iCloud Drive
